Recording, ca. June, 1960, of a meeting of the Northland Historical Society. Harry Williams, a pioneer resident and retired Highway Commissioner, discusses the history of the wire grass (marsh grass) industry in the Minocqua area, and also provides information on early road building activity and the history of highways in northern Wisconsin. Robert Smeaton, local historian, speaks on the history of Minocqua, Wis., beginning with early Chippewa and Potawatomi camps in the Tomahawk Lake area.
